You can't fake fashion.

Según explica Vogue UK, en el pasado año 2012 fueron incautadas menos prendas de vestir falsas con respecto al año anterior. Según un informe publicado por la Aduana de EEUU (no he conseguido encontrar cifras fiables en España), las cifras ascienden a un total de 7.800 prendas falsas interceptadas, $511,2 millones de dólares por valor de bolsos falsos y carteras; $186,9 millones de dólares por valor de relojes falsificados y joyas, y $ 103,3 millones de dólares en calzado.

By a Vogue UK study,  fewer counterfeit fashion and apparel products were seized in 2012 than in 2011. Officials intercepted sales of 7,800 fake apparel goods worth up to $133 million (£87.3 million) in 2012, according to a report by US customs released last week. In comparison, a total of 8,094 clothing items valued at $142.3 million (£90 million) were seized in 2011. Additionally, US customs seized $511.2 million (£321.8 million) worth of fake handbags and wallets; $186.9 million (£117.7 million) worth of counterfeit watches and jewellery; and $103.3 million (£65 million) worth of  footwear.

China es la fuente número uno de productos de imitación, según los informes de WWD. Un total de 697 sitios web que facilitan la venta de productos falsificados fueron eliminados en los últimos 12 meses.

China is named as the number-one source of imitation products, reports WWD. A total of 697 websites facilitating the sale of counterfeit goods were taken down over the last 12 months. 

"A medida que el comercio en línea continúa creciendo, estamos viendo que las organizaciones criminales más internacionales que explotan el ciberespacio para promover sus empresas criminales", dijo Lev Kubiak, director del Centro Nacional de Propiedad Intelectual Derechos. "Los sitios web son cada vez más la parte delantera o punto de entrada para los consumidores, las empresas y las organizaciones criminales en la cadena de suministro internacional."

"As online commerce continues to expand, we are seeing more international criminal organisations exploiting cyberspace to further their criminal enterprises," said Lev Kubiak, director of the National Intellectual Property Rights Centre. "Websites are increasingly the front end or entry point for consumers, businesses and criminal organisations to the international supply chain."

No voy a entrar en temas relativos a la legislación vigente, si hay algún interesado en el tema puede consultarlo aquí. Aparte de que valoro la iniciativa y estoy enamorada de algunos de los diseños, para terminar me gustaría invitar a la reflexión con las declaraciones del diseñador español Carlos Diez que hace un tiempo se vio obligado a cerrar las puertas de su tienda. "Te das cuenta que por encima de ti hay grandes monstruos que te van comiendo. La ropa se tiene que vender, pero si hay gente que está fabricando a unos niveles muy bestias camisetas a 3€, ¿dónde voy a venderlas yo a setenta euros?".

Other than that I appreciate the initiative and I am in love with some of the designs, finally I would like to invite reflection with statements by Spanish designer Carlos Diez which early on was forced to close the doors of his shop. "You realize that above you, there are big monsters that are eating you. Clothes have to being sold, but if some people are making a very beasts shirts levels to € 3, where I'm going to sell a seventy euros tshirt?".
